Ar-We-Va 2020 Senior Recognition
On Sunday, May 24th, the Ar-We-Va CSD will be presenting caps and gowns, scholarships and awards, and individual yard signs purchased by The Observer to our graduating seniors. This will take place starting at 2 PM, which would have been the original time and date of the 2020 commencement. This will be in addition to the commencement ceremony that will still be held at 2 PM on June 20th. We wanted to recognize our graduating seniors in some way on the original date that their commencement was supposed to have taken place. In order to maintain gathering restrictions and social distancing guidelines, we will implement the following:
-Each senior has a designated five-minute time slot listed below.
-Please do not exit any vehicles until directed to do so.
-The vehicle processional will follow north on Clinton St. Please do not enter Clinton St from Highway 30.
-The graduating senior will walk up the steps in front of the high school doors when directed and receive his/her cap, gown, awards, scholarships, and yard sign from Mr. Petersen and Ms. Merkel.
-Each senior may have TWO parents/guardians in attendance with them.
-Mr. Schurke will be there taking pictures for the yearbook and can email each graduate/family a picture if requested.
We ask for and appreciate your cooperation with the above guidelines. While we understand this is not ideal, we want to be able to recognize our seniors on their originally scheduled commencement day in a safe manner that follows all state and federal guidelines.
